“My interest in Photography began in my late teens – well before Digital Camera had been invented. I borrowed my parents ancient film camera and took loads of very bad snaps of anything and everything. I set up a darkroom in my bathroom and spent many happy hours in there. In my 30s I decided that I wanted to get away from snapshots and start taking real photographs on a camera that wasn’t set to Auto.
Then came the Digital Revolution in the late 1990s and the world of photography changed. I switched to Digital and have used it ever since.
I spent years shooting mainly Landscapes, spent 7 years travelling round the world with a bicycle and a camera, worked in a studio shooting weddings and portraits for a few years, then started teaching Photography with Cornwall Adult Education 3 years ago, and found my niche!
I really enjoy teaching beginners, and getting them off Auto so they can get the shots they want, not that the camera wants. I like my courses to be fun and lively with lots of hands-on and one-to-one tuition. Most of my students come back for more!”
